Happy Independence Day!

After partying with the Manlys for Grandmother's birthday bash, we headed back to our house to celebrate Independence Day with the Dawsons.  Uncle Ted and Carolyn were in town!

We ate a feast prepared by Daddy (he didn't decorate, but he did grill all day!).

Sweet cousins.

The kids got to do sparklers for the first time, and they were a hit!  Somehow the only person who got burned was Mommy.  But better me than them.

This was not Granddaddy's first sparkler, I dare say, but the grownups joined in the fun.

Brooks was very serious about his sparkler.

My little firecracker enjoyed every minute of it.

And Sara liked it best when Grumpy held it.

After dinner and dessert (pound cake and homemade ice cream--yummm), some of us put on our jammies and loaded up to watch the fireworks.

A.J.saw his first firework show.  And ate a bottle at the same time.  Such a multi-tasker!
