Happy Easter!

We woke up bright and early this morning to discover our Easter baskets, which contained new bathing suits, flip flops, bubbles, candy, and a couple of other things.

After we had emptied our baskets in Mom and Dad's room, we rushed to the den to hunt eggs and fill them back up.

(As you can see from the next shot, not all of us are joyful when our siblings beat us to the eggs.  And in fairness, Hallie is a little too efficient at an egg hunt.)

But Hallie is also willing to share her loot (when it doesn't contain candy!), so we all ended up happy.

We got dressed in our Easter outfits and took a few pictures before we headed up to Birmingham to go to church with Gigi and company.

Even with the boo-boos, he's pretty cute...  :)

Gigi hosted us for lunch and a quick egg hunt before the rain started.  Uncle Gray hid the eggs for us.

Sometimes you have to demonstrate your commitment to finding the best ones...

Sara stops to smile.  Hallie is all business.  :)

Gigi had a few Easter gifts for the kids to keep them occupied while the grown-ups ate lunch and talked.  That Gigi.  She's a smart one.

It was quite a success.  The kids were entertained for a long time!

We had a good, full day.  We are thankful for family, time together, and most of all the grace of our God.  Hallie asked on the way home what it means when we say that Jesus gives us new life.  I don't know that our explanation did it justice, but I am thankful for another opportunity to tell her the Story.

Happy Easter!

Ready for Easter Morning

The baskets are filled and the eggs hidden in preparation for the morning.  Happy early Easter!

Month in Review

It has been a full month for us.  We started March with two closings--one to sell our house in Hoover and one to buy our new house in Tuscaloosa.

We spent that first weekend moving in with tons of help from Gigi and Grumpy.  We still have some boxes in our garage, but the living spaces are, well, liveable.

Last week we went to Birmingham for the Dawson Easter Egg Hunt, which we attend every year.

Hallie found lots of eggs.

Here she is with her loot.

We also got to ride some race cars, which Brooks loved.

This was A.J.'s first egg hunt.  He wasn't too sure what was going on, but he was a very happy guest.  He is as laid back as his parents!  :)

We also watched a puppet show.

And Sara took a turn hunting.

She made a pretty good haul herself!

We bounced in the bounce house.

And we gathered for a group picture at the end...which required corralling Brooks.

But it turned out pretty cute...

This past week was our Spring Break.  So I loaded up the kids to spend a few days in Cookeville with Nana and Papa.

(And Charlie, Avery, Juju, and JonJon.)

Which consisted of the requisite dress-up...

The requisite cookie baking...

 Some game-playing...

And it SNOWED.  Which is just wrong on Spring Break.  But God didn't ask me.

Nana and the kids braved the cold to play a little.  And a wimpy Mommy took pictures from the doorway.

They even made a little snowman.

Until we all looked up and realized that Brooks was jumping in a snow-filled trampoline and was, therefore, SOAKING wet!

We visited the Children's Museum.

And ate lots of very loud meals together.

We decorated a few of our cookies for dessert.
