In Sara's Hat

For President's Day last week, Sara's class talked about Abraham Lincoln and, apparently, about his hat.  After they discussed the fact (legend?) that Lincoln used to carry things in his hat, they asked the kids what they would carry in their hat.  I can't say that I'm surprised by Sara's answer, although it is a funny mental image.

Happy belated President's Day!

Ballet Videos

Here are the promised videos from Ballet Visitor's Day.  The one of Sara cracks me up.  They were supposed to be doing some improvisational dancing to the music that is playing.  If you have it turned up you can hear the teacher say, "Sara, it's a big room.  Move your feet."

Should be a fun recital in May!

Ballet Visitor Day

In preparation for the girls' upcoming recital this spring, the mommies were invited to attend Visitor's Day at ballet class today. The girls were very excited to show off what they have learned. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much the girls in H's class had improved since last year, and I was completely entertained by Sara's group. Videos will follow, but here are a few (likely grainy) photos.

(I'm composing this post on my iPhone via the blogger app, so please excuse any hiccups!)

The Patient

Little Man had his second set of tubes put in his ears this morning.  He was a trooper and didn't fuss at the nurses at all.  That said, he was not above a pouty face and some extra cuddling.

He was enamored with his bracelet, Mommy's bracelet, and Daddy's bracelet.  He was still wearing his when I left the house for work today.

Sometimes an iphone is just the distraction you need.

Can you tell it's early??

Gigi hosted an early birthday brunch for Jason and me on Saturday morning.

We had a little help opening our presents.

Valentine's Party

It was my day to help with Sara's classroom party.  She enjoyed a fun Valentine's Day!

My girl got a haircut this weekend...isn't she a cutie?

Thirteen Point One!

Sunday morning, Jason ran his first half-marathon!  The kids wore these shirts to cheer him on.

We got dressed for church, threw our daddy-inspired t-shirts on over our clothes, and then bundled up because it was COLD!

Grumpy went along to help with the kiddos.  Brooks did not understand WHY we were standing out in the cold.

Yay!  Daddy finished!

Our friend Lance ran too.

Congrats, Jason!  A well-earned accomplishment.

From My Valentine

Thanks, honey!
