Gigi's House

These pictures are a couple of weeks old now. Funny how much our little guy has changed and grown in just that short time!

Getting Down

Sara spent the Egg Hunt dancing--often all by herself. Be sure and watch her toward the end of this short clip.

And a little hip action from Hallie too...

Easter Egg Hunt

So we didn't get a lot of pictures of us actually hunting eggs...we were a little too distracted by the inflatables, car rides, cookie decorating, and bubbles.  And Hallie says that her favorite part of the egg hunt was the puppet show.  I would imagine Sara agrees, based on the nonstop dancing she did in front of the puppet stage.  Videos to follow...

Holy Week Preparation

The Lenten season in our house has consisted largely of Jason trying to teach Hallie to say "He is risen indeed!" as we do on Easter.  So far, this is where we stand:

J:  "He is risen!"
H:  "And then I say, 'Risen 'deed?'"

That is the exchange EVERY time.  And every time we answer, "Yes, Hallie, you say 'He is risen indeed'!"  To which she replies, "Oh,  Risen 'deed."

Oh well.  Maybe next year...

Handsome Fella

I couldn't get enough of this little seersucker button down today.  :)

Playtime with Hallie

Since Hallie has taken to rising with the sun and Sara prefers to doze for two more hours after that, Hallie and Brooks spend some mornings chilling out and waiting for their sleepy sister to join them.  This morning, we got out the play mat for Brooks and Hallie climbed right on.

First Bottle

Little Man had a big day today.  He is three weeks old today, which is the age that we give our babies a bottle for the first time.  Not surprisingly, he downed it.  :)

First Bath

My little buddy lost his cord yesterday, which meant today was Bath Day!  I gave him a bath tonight, and he seemed to really like it.  I did get peed on once, but I guess that was to be expected.  Otherwise he just sat in the warm water enjoying the bath.

Statistics

Well, we've done it again.  Brooks went for his two week checkup today (yes, he'll be three weeks tomorrow, but we're never really on the ball about these things anymore). Dr. Anderson and his nurses were truly impressed by the weight gain of our little MVP-to-be.  The nurse who did his heel stick kept saying, "You're too big to be getting a PKU test.  You're here for your regular shots, right?"  (I keep threatening to bottle my breastmilk and sell it on the internet, but I think it may contain some amount of human growth hormone or something.)

He weighed 11 lbs and half an ounce--up from 8 lbs and 3 oz at his checkup 5 days after he was born.  That's the 97th percentile.  He is perfectly proportional, though, because he is 24 inches (that's right--2 FEET!) long.  Also the 97th percentile.

His head is a bit smaller--14 3/4 inches in circumference, or the 60th percentile.  That sounds about right.  People keep saying he doesn't look like an 11 lb baby, and I think it's because his head and face are little (relatively, anyway).

Overall, he got a very good report.  He does have a little breakout on one side of his face, but Dr. Anderson prescribed an ointment that should have him looking like his dapper self in no time.  He's had a few fussy nights in a row, so I am crossing my fingers maybe he'll have a better night tonight.  So far it's not looking good, but I'm hopeful anyway.

I am quite smitten with my laid back little man.

Hallie's Thesaurus

Nana (holding phone out to H):  Hallie, tell Papa you called him by accident.
Hallie (into phone):  Papa, I called you by injury.
