Justice Thomas has recently released his memoir and has spoken in various interviews about the malicious harassment allegations that plagued his confirmation hearings. Interestingly, I read today that, since his confirmation hearings in 1991, "the number of job bias lawsuits filed each year has more than tripled." Mallery, Employment Termination: Rights and Remedies 412 (2d ed., Supp. 2003). The author of the cited treatise implies that, to some extent, the rise in suits filed can be attributed to the national spotlight on the subject at the confirmation hearings.
Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate, but the national exposure likely changed the landscape for employment litigation.
As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.
