Tender Tennessee Christmas

We went to Cookeville on Thursday afternoon to spend the weekend with Nana, Papa, and our cousins.  First, we took over played at the Children's Museum on Friday morning.

We decorated cookies at Nana's house.

(Nana gave SOMEONE the "wrong" color icing! Can you guess who?)

Somehow a hug from Papa cured our ills.

Saturday morning meant it was time to open presents!!

Our Christmas jammies!

Wearing our new Christmas jammies to open our stockings.

Our dolls got matching pjs too!

A "kitar!"  This was one long-awaited Christmas present.

Hulk hands!

Avery wouldn't sit in Sara's lap, so here's what I got...one day I'm gonna print her pouty faces and make some sort of collage.  Geez.

We settled down long enough to eat breakfast and then played some more with our new toys.

Nana's favorite part of our collective visits is the slew of sippy cups on every surface...

Or maybe it's the piles of shoes by the door.  Hard to say.

Saturday afternoon we ran our sillies out at the gym at Papa's church.  Jon Jon and Juju even had a friend's jumpy house that we blew up!

Snack break.

And THEN...we broke out the roller skates!  This was the first time any of the kids had skated, and it was a hit.  I was really kind of surprised by how well they did--particularly Brooks.  For such a tall guy, he's pretty coordinated.  Thankfully, he did not take after his mother in this regard.

The hallway was carpeted, and was the perfect place to try out our new skills with minimal falls.

We capped off our adventure with some air hockey, and when we got back in the car, it was snowing a little!

We came home and played a little more.  Avery wore her backpack that is as big as she is for a good portion of the afternoon and evening.

And then Sunday morning we went to church, ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and hugged everyone good-bye.  It was a great visit with people we love very much!
