A couple of weeks ago we went on a fabulous family beach trip with the Head and Groves clans. We spent some time playing in the beach house...
Sharing snacks...
We hung out on the beach...
(This was one of only a couple of beach times for Brooks, who liked the sand right up to the point that it was all over him. And that took about 5 minutes of him playing in it.)
The kids got braver about the ocean as the week went along. Here, Hallie seems to be contemplating riding the waves. That did not actually happen, however.
Jon Jon put his architectural prowess to good use...
Avery spent her beach time looking stylish.
Oh, and napping.
As a matter of fact, several of us napped on the beach.
Sara was all business with her sand buckets. She spent about half the trip transferring sand, water, and whatever else she found from one bucket to the next.
Charlie helped Aunt 'Nita figure out some settings on her camera one afternoon. Charlie and Aunt 'Nita, it turns out, were big buds this week, which I completely loved.
We also went for ice cream one evening. Sara thoroughly enjoyed hers, of course.
Brooks took bites between runs up and down the porch. He was trying to burn off the calories upon consumption, I think.
Of course, we spent plenty of time at the pool.
Where Daddy threatened to dunk Nana (this did not actually happen either, although I can't say the same for ME).
We ate dinner at Stinky's Fish Camp, and the girls thought the name was funny.
Our house also had a fabulous rooftop porch, where we ended many of our days.
It was a great trip! Thank you for everything, Nana and Papa!
