Out on the Square

Melissa and Austin made the trek to Oxford with us this weekend, and we went out on the Square when we got in town on Friday night.

Bossy Shirt?

Jason: "Hallie, don't be a bossy pants."
Hallie: "I no bossy pants. I bossy shirt."

Challenging Quote

From the girltalk blog:

"Your mission, dear mother, is not to make your children happy, but to prepare them for eternity…You must relentlessly evangelize their never-dying souls.”

Not Gonna Take It Anymore

Sara came home from school with (another!) bite mark on her arm yesterday. I was very concerned...until I got the full scoop from Miss Toni this morning. Apparently one of her "friends" took Sara's cup from her. Sara wrestled it back from him not once, but twice. On her second retrieval of the cup, her "friend" took a chunk out of her chubby little arm. Toni said not to worry--Sara wasn't going down without a fight. The entire time the kid was biting her, Sara was reportedly whacking him with said cup. They thought they might have to do an "incident report" for the other kid too.

Maybe I'm sadistic, because this mental image cracked me up. Living with a sister who's two and not exactly gentle all the time can make you tough. To quote Toni, "Sara isn't gonna bother you. But she doesn't wanna be bothered either."

Hallie had better take it down a notch if Sara has started defending herself.

Smarty Pants

On the way to school this morning, Hallie decided to amuse herself by calling me "Mom" instead of "Mommy," which she knows I hate. So, when she kept asking, "What you doin', Mom?" I smartly responded with "Nothin, H." After a minute, Hallie asked, "What you doin', M?"

I believe I've been out-sassed.

My Little Sailor

We have this adorable nautical bedding for Brooks! Sort of crazy to be decorating that little yellow room again so soon, but it's also very fun.

And I can't wait for Hallie to see the boats in the morning and announce "Noah made the boat!"

Rebels Win!

The mommies and daddies left the little ones in Cookeville on Saturday night and drove to Nashville for the Ole Miss/Vandy game. It was great football weather and a good game. Hotty Toddy!

Sweet Sisters

Happy Birthday, Gigi

We celebrated Gigi's birthday last week. Hallie is still singing "Happy Birthday" to her occasionally. I think Hallie and Sara enjoyed Gigi's birthday as much as she did!
