Storytime
When I dropped off the girls today, Hallie's teacher greeted her with, "Hey there, Bossy Lady." Grinning, she said to me, "Oh, I have to tell you what she did yesterday." (I never know where it's going when she starts a story that way...)
While in the Activity Room at school yesterday, Hallie found a Thomas the Tank Engine book. Coincidentally, her Gigi gave her a train book for Christmas that she really likes. So, she picked up the book and went to the first page. Reading to herself, she looked at the pages and narrated, "choo choo choo choo..." Then, she went over to Miss Toni and held the book up so Miss Toni could see the picture on that page (when Miss Toni did not look immediately, she took Miss Toni's chin and pointed it to the book). After Miss Toni responded appropriately, Hallie took the book around to each of her friends and showed them the picture. Then she flipped to the next page and "read" from it, saying "choo choo choo choo." And then she showed everyone the picture on that page. This continued until she finished the book.

Good Report
At Sara's checkup this morning, she weighed 19 lbs 1 oz. She's in the 97th percentile for height and 95th for weight. Perhaps we'll start practicing on the basketball goal Uncle Gray gave the girls for Christmas...
Her ears looked good (for once), and she is doing great. She tolerated the shots well and was sleeping soundly when I dropped her off at school.
She's also rolling over a lot these days (which makes it very difficult to change her diaper or get her dressed) and giggling all the time.

Monday Miracles
Since they moved back to Birmingham several months ago, Mama Pat and Granddaddy have given me the best gift. Every Monday night while Jason works with the Birmingham Boys Choir, my sweet grandparents bring dinner to my house and help me feed, entertain, bathe, and put my children to bed. It is such a relief to know that at the end of a long Monday I will come home to a homecooked meal and two extra sets of hands. And, as you can see, the girls love the time with them almost as much as I do.

Girly Girl
I somehow forgot to post this, but I was telling my co-worker the story earlier today and thought I'd share...
We went to lunch with my parents, grandparents, and siblings a couple of weeks ago, and Hallie was wearing a new ladybug dress from her Gigi. (Incidentally, it was really cute.) When Gigi saw her, she said, "Hallie, you look so pretty." In response, Hallie smiled and traced the length of her dress with her hand in a definite "yes and don't you just love my dress?" motion.
We cracked up.
In other news, Mommy forgot Hallie's hairbow this morning (Hallie was wearing a cute little hat when we left, so it slipped my mind). As you might imagine, she was not pleased with me when she discovered it. And I saw her friend Claire go into school as I was coming out with her bow in. Miss Toni may be in for a long day with the Bug.
