Mama Pat took care of Hallie while we packed yesterday. Don't they look content?

Playing with Gigi
Hallie is learning to reach and grab for her toys! You can watch a short clip here.
(Some of you are thinking, "Wow. New parents get excited very easily." But I just can't tell you how much fun it is to watch her think and learn.)

My Daughter is Fabulous, and I'm a Big Wuss
Dr. Wood declared that Hallie looks "fabulous," and I couldn't agree more. She weighed in at a whopping 13 lbs, 1 oz. And she's 24 1/2 inches long! For those of you keeping track at home, that's about the 95th percentile in both height and weight. Of course, this is no great shock considering her parents' physiques, but we're glad that she is healthy and growing.
As for the shots, they were just as little fun as I'd anticipated. And I have to admit that I cried a little when they stuck her. I'm going to have to toughen up before she's old enough to know that mommy is upset!
As for the chance of posting pictures this week, it appears that I may have spoken too soon and we may be able to get pictures onto Martha's computer. So, check back in a day or so. And in the meantime, wish us luck getting this house packed--it's got a long way to go!

Picture Hiatus
Jason has traveled to Birmingham for his first week of work there, and he accidentally took my photo-card reader with him. So, it will be a few days before I can post anymore pics on the blog. However, we are going to the doctor tomorrow morning for Hallie's checkup, so I'll post an update afterward. Meanwhile, we're still taking bets as to how much she'll weigh. As my arm aches from carrying her, I've placed my bet on 12 to 13 pounds. I know one thing -- she has officially outgrown most of her newborn clothes, which supposedly fit up to 12 pounds.
I am dreading the doctor appointment because the nurses want me to hold her while they give her a million shots. They say this is so I can "comfort" her. Baloney. All this is going to accomplish is to make her mad at me, not them. And I have to take her home while they can just walk out of the room! Oh, the injustice.
Anyway, once we survive the trauma of the appointment, I'll let you know how much she's grown.

Without Further Ado...
Hallie has been talking to us for a couple of weeks now, but it took forever to finally get it on the blog. You simply must see it!
Here she is...
(Special thanks to my husband, who finally got this thing to work. And to Courtney for the Google Video idea!)
Note: If it says the video is temporarily unavailable, you may need to disable your pop-up or ad blocker for the site.

Technical Difficulties
To the family members who were expecting a video clip today, my apologies. It seems the webmaster (yours truly) is unable to transfer the completely adorable footage of Hallie cooing at us onto the computer. But never fear--we will try another route tomorrow. So check back soon to eavesdrop on our fun conversations!
