Thoughts From the Beach (the seven kids five and under edition)

We have spent the past week at the beach with the Iowa and Tennessee Heads and Groves.  We've evaded sunburn and had lots of fun.  Soon I will have more pictures on the blog than anyone will care to see.  But in the meantime, here are some thoughts from the trip...

1.  It must be Murphy's Law that my chicken-y children become brave water warriors on our last day of the trip.

2.  There are some waiters who understand the urgency of bringing out food for a table full of kids  God bless them.

3.  How did anybody do anything before washing machines?  I swear I've done 10 loads since we got here.  At least.

4.  It won't be long before my girls are cursing their fair-skinned gene pool.

5.  It amazes me how fast the week goes and how slow the days.

6.  I am grateful that my children look so cute in their brightly colored swimsuits.  It's the only thing that adequately distracts me from the horror of wearing one myself.

7.  If that roach reappears in my bathroom late tonight he'll be sorry.  Fool me once...

8.  Heather and James:  if I never make it back please clean my house before letting anyone else in.

Happy Birthday to Hallie

Last Saturday, my backyard morphed into a mini-waterpark for the Bug's Big Beach Party.  We were able to celebrate with her friends from church (and many of their parents and siblings), in addition to our cousins and good friends the Gothards.  And of course, Heather and James and the Lloyds.  It was a great morning, and our yard was positively packed out.
