Big Girl Chair

Ever since Mama Pat and Gigi let Hallie sit in a grown-up chair to eat last weekend, she has decided she is way too big for her booster seat. She's been sitting in a regular kitchen chair at our table all week, but she really isn't quite tall enough to reach the table yet. So, we've come to a compromise.
My Aunt Martha sent this child's chair for Hallie, and it pulls right up to the table. So, it's like a grown-up chair, but it enables her to reach her food. (Unfortunately, it doesn't have any way to strap her in, so we may be fighting her tendency to stand up in it for the next couple of weeks.) She seems to like it very much!

Tummy Time

She's working on holding that head up!

Pretty in her PJs

Our friends Pep and Anna sent Sara these pajamas. Aren't they adorable? Sara likes them too--check out that grin!

Happy Birthday, Gigi!

Friday was Gigi's birthday. So, we took the girls over to give her her gifts on Thursday night.

One of those gifts was a black and white polka dotted tote bag...as you can see, Hallie really liked it. She immediately put the straps on her arms, waved "bye bye" to the whole room, and took it with her. Between the shoe fetish and the penchant for purses, Hallie is an accessory queen.
Happy birthday, Gigi! We hope you had fun on your birthday trip this weekend (and that you enjoyed your bag)!

Sleepy Head

Sara gave us a break on Wednesday night and surprised us by sleeping the whole night! Eight hours! Unfortunately, she did not repeat the feat last night. But Wednesday was a very bright glimmer of hope that maybe she will sleep all the way through the night on a regular basis in the near future. Sara is way ahead of Hallie in this department (she didn't sleep all the way through the night till she was almost 5 months old), and given Hallie's propensity to sleep these days I'm very hopeful that we will have long, uninterrupted, peaceful nights at our house in a couple of months. We will see...

Good Report

Sara went for her two-month checkup yesterday, and received a good report from Dr. Anderson (along with 4 shots). She weighs 13 pounds, 12.5 ounces, and is 24 inches long. This puts her in the 90th percentile for height and 95th for weight. (Jason and I aren't into making small babies...)
Dr. Anderson said that she looked great, and the small heart murmur he detected at her two week checkup is gone. Yay!

Grandmother's Lap

Sara had a tummy ache during the family birthday party this afternoon at Aunt Ellen's house. So, she wanted Mommy most of the party. But she did enjoy sitting with Grandmother for a little bit.

Fun at the Sugar Shack

Yep, Krispy Kreme is always a hit.

I'm considering nicknaming my parents' house the "Sugar Shack," for obvious reasons. While Jason, Sara and I hit the road for Oxford this weekend, Hallie went to Gigi and Grumpy's house for some spoiling of her very own. As you can see, she didn't really miss us. (And yes, that is Sara's monogrammed bib in the picture...apparently Hallie borrowed it for the day. After all, everything is really hers--just ask her.)

At the Game

Sara braved her first Ole Miss game on Saturday. Despite the dismal outcome, she was very good. She slept through the first half and then woke up for the second half...right about the time the Rebels were falling asleep.

Sara went to Oxford for the first time this weekend! She enjoyed the Grove, despite a little rain and a lot of humidity.

Granddaddy and Hallie

Lots to Say

Sara has started cooing a little. She had a lot to tell Mama Pat on Saturday night.

Tricycle!

Aunt Martha sent Hallie a tricycle. It's still a little big for her, so she got some assistance from Daddy. But it's just perfect for our little daredevil!

Bathtime

Nana gave Sara a bath this weekend.

Wide Awake

Mrs. Berg kept Sara happy for quite a while tonight while we visited.

Zoo!

Hallie, Sara, Nana, and I went to the zoo today. Hallie really enjoyed herself--and wore herself out. She's been napping since we got home. Perhaps she was inspired by all the napping animals...

Sara, however, didn't bother waiting till we got home to nap. She just snoozed her way through the zoo.
