Horsing Around

Playtime with Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa came to keep the Bug out of school today and tomorrow while she "recovers" from her surgery. As you can see, it's a speedy recovery. :)

The Happy Patient

Here is Hallie at the hospital at the crack of dawn this morning. She did great with the surgery and seems to be back to her old self tonight. We are very pleased that everything went well and that she finally has the tubes...here's hoping they make a big difference in how she feels!

Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Ok, so it wasn't really Take Your Daughter to Work Day. But Hallie and I went and visited her Daddy at his office on Good Friday because she was out of school. Here she is helping him with the calculator.

Swing!

Nana and Papa bought Hallie a new swing! She isn't completely sure about it yet, but we are getting more and more comfortable in it.

Dawson Girls

Courtney, Whitney, and Duski came over for a girls' night a couple of weeks ago. Hallie helped Whitney open her birthday gift, and here she is crinkling the tissue paper with Duski. And as you can see, Hallie and Savannah played together very well too!

Rescheduled

Hallie's tube surgery has been rescheduled for March 31st--one week from today. After a long weekend of fussiness, we are more than ready for this little procedure, and my sweet girl really needs to get off the antibiotics-carousel. So, we're hoping that the surgery will actually happen this time...

In other news, my camera battery was low for Easter, so I'll have to rely on some pictures from a few other people. When I get them, I'll post them. We had a great Easter, and Hallie looked precious in her new dress!

Postponed

Hallie's tube surgery has been postponed for a couple of weeks. She went to the pediatrician yesterday because she sounded very congested. He gave her a "breathing treatment," which (from what I understand) consisted of Jason and Martha holding her down and putting a mask on her face for 10 minutes--talk about no fun. Basically, it was the same medicine given to asthma patients; hopefully it wasn't indicative of things to come. And they gave her a super-shot of antibiotics too. Woohoo.

Anyway, all that to say, the nurse anesthetist at Children's South said that they did not think it was in her best interest to put her to sleep when she has these breathing/congestion problems, so the surgery has been postponed. I am very relieved because I was nervous about putting her under anesthesia when she's congested. On the other hand, we're frustrated, because she remains in a lot of a pain from her ears. The doctor yesterday said her ear infection is much worse, and she proved it last night by crying and tugging at her ear. So, the fun continues...

Another Snowy Day

It doesn't take much snow to get Alabamians excited. But at least we got a picture of the Bug before it melts this time!

Sara Frances Head

After not one, but two, ultrasounds, the lab technician is "fairly certain" we're having a girl!

Love at First Bite

Jason gave Hallie some of his grilled cheese sandwich tonight just to see what she would do. She gobbled it up, and we ended up giving her quite a bit of our sandwiches! Guess I'll have to make a third one next time...

Drumroll, please...

Tomorrow morning, at 7:30 am, we will see the Littlest Head on ultrasound AND find out whether it's a Brooks or a Sara. I will update as soon as I get to work!

Surgery Scheduled

We are on for March 19th for Hallie's tubes. The doctor was very nice and agreed that she needs them. Hallie even sat in his lap for a few minutes while we talked.

We will go to the hospital at 5:45 am that morning...woohoo!

When I dropped her off at school, Hallie's teachers told me that two of her classmates already have tubes and one is getting them next week. So, we're not alone.

The Little Sicko

Hallie has another cold, accompanied by a double ear infection. So, this morning, we are headed to an E.N.T. for a pre-tube checkup. Then we'll schedule the Bug for tubes. Hopefully she'll be able to get the surgery soon so she won't have to deal with all these infections anymore!

Thank you to her Daddy for staying home with her Monday and Tuesday. She can be a little more difficult when she's sick, but they played and made the best of it.

Nice Sunshine-y Day

We had fun in the backyard today. It was a gorgeous day!

Tickling the Ivories

Gigi bought Hallie this awesome piano this weekend, and she is quite impressed with herself.

More Birthday Fun!

On Saturday, we celebrated February birthdays with the Manlys. Here is Hallie with Grandmother and Aunt Ellen.

On Friday night, we had a belated birthday celebration with Gigi, Grumpy, Gray, and Melissa.
